Saturday Science Lecture with Paul Byrne on the Geology of Venus
Paul Byrne from the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Washington University in St. Louis, will be hosting this Saturday Science Lecture "New Insights into the Geology of Venus”
With three new Venus missions recently announced by NASA and ESA, attention is once more turning to the second planet. In the past few years, a view has emerged of a much more dynamic world than we once thought. In this talk, Professor Byrne will present an overview of the current understanding of Venus, followed by insights from two recent studies he has led to understand the planet's past and present properties—which can be tested by the new missions.
The Zoom link will be sent via email to everyone on our email list before each lecture. Those wishing to join the email list should email a request to physics@wustl.edu.
